Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day;
If only it was that easy. When it comes to your wedding day, or even just your engagement session weather always becomes an important factor.
As a photographer, wouldn't it be great if we could control the weather; always have the sun out with a little bit overcast, so that we could make the perfect conditions, and thus, make our job easier? Or maybe even just have "magic hour" come at our beck and call whenever we want it. "Magic hour" is that gorgeous little bit of time as the sun is setting and everything looks almost golden.
But the reality is that is simply not the case. So if it's raining or snowing or sunny and perfect, just go with the flow embrace it. Think of it this way; you can have a completely different style of pictures. By no means am I saying that shooting the rain is better than shooting on a sunny day.
What I am saying is that if it is raining, you're going to have a lot of style in those pictures.
When I was a kid and it was raining out, I got excited to put on my rubber boots, and run and jump and play in the rain.
It was with that in mind that I was excited once more, when it started raining for an engagement session; but it was the challenge that the rain presented that I was excited for.
Just to showcase something different.
So rain or shine, just go for it! You won't regret it.
